From my understanding: TikTok is one global platform, but the ownership structure and regulatory pressures differ by region. In the US, after the divest-or-ban law and the 2025 consortium deal, Oracle and its partners now hold board power and operational oversight over TikTok’s American business.
In the UK and Europe, TikTok isn’t under that same Oracle-led setup (at least not yet). Instead, the company runs under a separate entity called TikTok UK/Europe, which reports to its European headquarters in Dublin. Regulators there have leaned heavily on privacy and data protection law (GDPR), which is why you’ve seen things like stricter ad-targeting rules, teen protections, and fines.
So- the app experience is broadly the same, but the political leash is different. In the US, it’s tied into Oracle and the Ellisons. In the UK, it’s tied into EU and UK regulators. Same platform, different overseers.

It’s just hard to not feel completely hopeless. Although this series is extremely informative and eye-opening, I can’t help, but feel like I am an ant at the mercy of children toying with my colony. What can be done? How could we possibly do anything that would be “fighting” back? The game has already been lost, they already won. They can choose to play games with entire ethnic groups. I feel like I am in such a twisted reality.

PS, in 2017 (pressured by his daughter and son-in-law) Trump converted to Judaism. They tried to scrub it so to not piss off his white supremacist Maga cult but look deep enough, you'll find it.
