I went out to buy a printer, realized how expensive ink was, and ended up with a chalk board… so I am glad it’s working for at least someone!

You think Ellison's bad, wait 'til you find out how the Printer Mafia does business.

Their cartridges are designed to expire in unison.

Use nothing but black ink all year long?

Yellow dries up when black does anyways!

Also, some of the cartridges use foam in them, to absorb the ink so the cartridge dries up sooner, so you'll have to replace them more often.

There's also the fact that printers digitally keep track of everything you print, and store them for "not intelligence" agencies.

Chalk and boards are *very* underrated.

If you don't *need* color, get a decent b&w 3in1 LASER combo. The cartridges last forever, and the printing is fast. Well worth it for about 250$('Brother' is good). It was a revelation for me, at one point.
