You assume this will erode HIPAA but the executive order makes it clear that it won’t. Just because it doesn’t create new rights or benefits doesn’t mean that it removes or nullifies existing laws, especially when the EO states multiple times that it exists only within the confines of existing laws. There’s really no reason to think that you couldn’t sue them for HIPAA abuse.
It’s really time to take accountability for our own actions in this. We’re all so ready to embrace technology to make everything more convenient for ourselves and embrace technology use as the “new” status symbol and shame anyone who doesn’t buy in
